Chat Room --------- 'Twas the night before the Office Christmas Party, and in my house, something was stirring. Me. Perl hat on, I decided to write a (at this stage, *very*) simple chat room for the Members Area. It's now online, and requires a frames (boo, hiss) capable browser, and Javascript enabled (as well as the usual cookies). At the moment, the middle frame (which contains the "chat" dialog) uses Javascript to refresh every 5 seconds, and holds a maximum of 50 lines. It's still very much under construction, but check it out none-the-less. Sign into the members area, click through to "Chat Room" (it's under the "Message Board" link). Idea: If any of you guys would be interested, maybe it'd be good to arrange some kind of time for a "TechTalk" when we are all available to talk shop? Just an idea - please feedback. I'll be adding a lot more functionality to the Chat Room over the coming week or so - festivities permitting. Recent Updates -------------- A single addition to http://www.zazzybob.com/bin.html so far this month - hical - a highlighted calendar script - you'll need to download my highlighted grep script (hgrep) too for this to work. There were a few scripts added late last month too - including a magic 8 ball script! - Check out the script repository for details. Chris Schroen has submitted a tip to the Tips and Tricks database at http://www.zazzybob.com/tips.php - if anybody else has anything they'd like to contribute, please visit the tips page for the submission link.
